Terms & Conditions

ENROLMENT OBLIGATIONS OF COSSUM SWIM SCHOOLS

 

I further represent and warrant that to the best of my knowledge and belief the student is physically and mentally able to participate in such activities with my approval. A licensed physician has reviewed the health information set forth in the student’s application, and information, or an independent medical examination, which would preclude the applicant from participation. I understand that if the applicant has Downs Syndrome, they cannot participate in activities that result in hyperextension, radical flexion or instability. I am aware that activities for which this radiological examination is required are Butterfly Stroke and Diving Starts in swimming.

 

In permitting the student to take part in lessons, I am specifically granting my permission for CSS to use the students name, voice and words in television, radio, film, newspaper, magazine and other media and in form for the purposes and communication of CSS.


If a medical emergency should arise during any such activity at a time when I am not personally present so as to be consulted regarding the students care, I hereby authorise CSS employees on my behalf to take whatever measures are necessary to insure that the student is provided with any emergency medical treatment including hospitalisation, which they deem advisable in order to protect the students health and well being.
If a non-emergency medical situation should arise during the students participation during such activities at a time when I am not personally present so as to be consulted regarding the students care, I hereby authorise CSS/Swimming Teachers personnel to act on my behalf and within the limits of their training and certification to provide the same type of non-prescription medication that I could be expected to provide if I were present. This is limited to basic first aid treatment.


I, the parent/guardian/student of the specified person, have read and fully understand the provision of the above release and I have explained them, along with all other contents of this from to that person. I hereby agree that I, and the student will be bound thereby and I shall indemnify CSS and employees against any liability resulting from disaffirmation thereof by the student or me.

 

On enrolment, CSS will

  • Give you the time/day and location of the lesson

  • Lessons of approximately 30 minutes duration

In booking this CSS will reserve you place for the student named on the application form.
Places are non transferable


CSS reserves the right to alter course dates at any time.
Teaching by staff with STA/ASA qualifications and CRB checks.
Report and re-booking forms.
CSS update certificates and badges from the STA Award Scheme for the highest level within each standard. Certificates and badges are available for purchase. This is usually done at the end of each quarter

 

OBLIGATIONS OF CLIENT

 

Adhere to the rules and regulations herein

  • Adhere to Health and Safety Rules shown opposite and below and any other reasonable instructions issued for and behalf CSS. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the lesson.

  • A guardian must accompany all children under the age of 12 and be over the age of 18 years.

  • Parents must stay in the building during lessons

HEALTH AND SAFETY

 

  • All known illnesses and allergies of the student must be declared on the enrolment form.

  • Buggies are not permitted at the poolside

  • It is not permissible for adults or children over the age of 8 to use opposite sex changing rooms

  • Children must leave the pool after the lesson

  • Pupils must wear bathing caps

  • Pool overshoes to be worn at all times

  • No jewellery will be worn when attending lessons

  • CSS do not take any responsibility for any items left in the changing rooms or pool area.

 

CSS reserves the right to exclude any person from lessons for a breach of these conditions or who they consider to be unfit to swim, a danger to themselves or others or who are displaying abusive or disruptive behaviour.
Only students registered for the course will be permitted on the poolside and no liability will attach CSS for incidents, which occur as a result of breach of this provision.


SEA SCOOTERS


Age Restrictions

 

Age is not a restricting factor. Sea Scooter can be used in swimming pools by accomplished and competent swimmers of all ages alike.

 

Operation & Use


The supervising Life Guard must check, the following:-

  • All medical & any ear problems must be declared at the time of enrolment

  • All riders must wear conventional swim wear, with no loose clothing.

  • All long hair must be tied back or swimming hats worn.

  • No necklaces or jewellery around their necks.

  • All waist belts or ties must be on the inside of any trunks or shorts.

  • No persons can operate a Sea Scooter whilst chewing gum.

  • Both hands must be on the controls at all times.

  • The Riders arms must be extended and the sea scooter propeller must be in front of the rider at all times.

  • All riders must always travel in the same direction around the swimming pool.

  • Riders do not crash into the swimming pool sides.

  • Riders do not crash into one another.

RENEWALS / LATE APPLICATIONS / REFUNDS / CANCELLATIONS


On Enrolment - Fees are paid by card or cheque.
Subsequent payments. These will be taken from your account approximately 2 weeks before the end of each course. Other payment types must also be received 2 weeks before the end of the course.

 

Cancellations
Cancellations must be received on line 2 weeks before the end of each course
Late cancelations will be charged a £20 processing fee

 

Refunds
No refunds are given for non-attendance due to any reason including pool closure.

DURATION
These terms will continue to apply to each course attended by the student and can be varied by CSS at any time.
